A sunny day at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys, a historical derby match between two greats FC Barcelona Femini and Real Madrid, attended by 38,717 fans. An electric atmosphere in the stadium, and Barcelona sure didn't disappoint. Barcelona netting 5 against Real Madrid.
Real Madrid started well, despite a high press from Barcelona, Real Madrid won the first corner of the game only 4 minutes in. The game soon settled down and Barcelona dominated possession, with a few glimpses of goal by Aitana and Graham Hansen.
A move up the right wing saw Aitana slot home the first goal of the meet, to the left hand side of the goal at 16 minutes, despite Real Madrid keeper Misa, getting a hand to it. Barcelona then had multiple chances to increase their lead coming from Aitana, Salma Paralluelo and Graham Hansen, some hitting the wood work and others being saved by Real Madrid keeper Misa.
Graham Hansen and Paralluelo partnered up to produce Barcelona's second goal of the match, Paralluelo took a shot at distance on her left, which smacked of the cross-bar, before Graham Hansen calmly put in the rebound, 2-0 at 43 minutes.
Approaching the half time whistle, Mariona made it 3-0, when Mapi Leon's corner was hooked back into the box, reaching Mariona who took a touch and curled the ball into the goal, even though Misa got a touch.
Real Madrid made three changes at half time and Misa made a great save when Paralluelo had an attempt on goal at 46 minutes. The first 15 minutes of the second half was more even, however Barcelona began to take control again with Aitana forcing saves from the Real Madrid keeper.
It was obvious more goals were coming with the pressure Barcelona had, Aitana ran through Real Madrid defence and pulled in back for Pina to score at 92 minutes. Barcelona still were not done, Vicky scored a fifth, lifting the ball over Lisa's shoulder after Brugt's through ball.
The whistle blew, Barcelona won by 5. An atmospheric and exciting el Clasico.
